BTX / Azzalure

BTX also referred to as Botulinum Toxin A. It was first developed in 1973 by an American eye surgeon as a treatment for eye squints. As the treatment was extended to various other eye conditions it was noted that there was a significant reduction in facial lines in the areas the BTX was injected. BTX is now used to treat a host of age related cosmetic problems in the head and neck.

BTX is most commonly used to treat upper facial lines such as crow’s feet, vertical forehead lines, horizontal forehead lines etc although there are a variety of mid and lower face cosmetic uses BTX.

On the whole side effects of BTX are uncommon and are self limiting.

Is BTX dangerous?

BTX injections have been used for aesthetic procedures for over 30 years and have proven to be safe and effective. BTX has been used as a safe and effective treatment for eye conditions, spacicity and cerebral palsy for even longer. Given the very small amount of toxin used and the very localised area in which it is delivered BTX is a safe way of treating signs of aging without resorting to invasive surgery.

BTX Anti-Wrinkle injections has become the gold standard for the reduction of lines and wrinkles in the upper face and can significantly improve and enhance areas of the mid face, lower face and neck.
